October 2 Special

While I was pondering about what's so great about October 2, apart from the fact that this day is special to me, I discovered a few more things, I could flaunt. 
When I went to Google for the same it showed up few important dates in History and also a few great men celebrated their birthdays on the same day. 
Paul von Hidenberg, German Field Marshal and Politician was born in 1847.
Our very own " Father of the Nation" was born in1869.
Groucho  Marx, famous comedian in the US was born in 1869.
Graham Greene, English Novelist was born in 1904. 


Liaqat Ali Khan, Pakistan's first Prime Minister was born in 1896
Few other important events and anniversaries on October 2:
American Civil War: Battle of Saltville – US forces attack Saltville, Virginia, but are defeated by Confederate troops.
1870 - Rome becomes the Capital City of Italy.
1924 – The Geneva Protocol is adopted as a means to strengthen the League of Nations
1925 – John Logie Baird performs the first test of a working television system.
1941 – World War II: Nazi German forces began Operation Typhoon, an all-out offensive against Moscow, starting the three-month long Battle of Moscow. 
1950 – Peanuts by Charles M. Schulz is first published.
1958 – Guinea declares its independence from France.
1996 – The Electronic Freedom of Information Act Amendments are signed by U.S. President Bill Clinton
1997 – European Union: The Amsterdam Treaty is signed.
2001 – Swissair liquidates and the airline is replaced by SWISS.
Other Important Events on October 2:
International Day of Non-Violence to commemorate birthday of Mahatma Gandhi
Guinea – Independence Day.

All these might not make relevant sense to many, however, it was just a way I choose to flaunt the importance of this day.
